Crush Guard - Installation - Genie ALC500/ALC1000 Crush Guard Frame Installation
This Tech Doc shows how the Crush Guard frame is Installed on the ALC500/ALC1000 Boom Lift
Installation Steps:
1. Position the Crush Guard frame
on the man platform.
2. Secure the
frame to the vertical posts on
each side of the operator
controls using the supplied U-bolts and tension to finger tight.
3. Make sure that the horizontal bar
of the frame, is resting on top of
the metal clips that secure the
operator control box to the man
platform.
4. On the left hand side of the
frame, tighten the two nuts
evenly on the U-bolt to 12Nm.
5. Once tensioned correctly, place
two of the supplied rubber caps
over the exposed U-bolt
threads.
6. On the right hand side of the
frame, tighten the two nuts
evenly on the U-bolt to 12Nm.
7. Once tensioned correctly, place
the remaining two supplied
rubber caps over the exposed
U-bolt threads.
8. Run the cable from the Crush
Guard frame through the
opening, in the man platform (as
shown in the image below).
9. The cable
has two M12 connectors and it is
necessary to run, one connector
at a time through the opening to
avoid any damage to the cable.
10. Secure the cable to the rear of
the man platform as shown in the
image.
11. The cable is secured
using one zip tie next to the
existing P-clip.
