Gen3 - Software - Enable and Setup Height Limiter

The height limiter function in the Gen3-LMS is only compatible with certain machines. To determine if the machine supports the height limiter function goto System Menu -> System Tests and enable the Boom Raise Cutout and Boom Extend Cutout and see if these boom functions are restricted. If these cutouts work then the machine is compatible with the height limiter function.

Follow the instructions below to configure the Gen3-LMS can be configured to limit the boom maximum height.
  1. Download and install Notepad++ from this link
  2. Remove the SD card from the Gen3 display and insert into a laptop
  3. Open the file data.cfg using Notepad++
  4. In the top [General] section update the following values
    HeightLimitEnabled=1 ; Enable Height Limit Function (0 to disable)
    HeightLimitSetPoint=2000 ; Height Limit in millimeters (eg. 2000mm)
  5. Save the file
  6. Click Safely Remove Hardware from the system tray to safely remove the SD card from the laptop
  7. Insert the SD card into the Gen3 display
  8. Test the height limit set point
The Gen3-LMS will engage the height limit cutout once it reaches the configured set point. The entered set point value should be less than the required height limit to allow for overshoot. The faster the boom moves the lower the set point value should be in order to stay below the height limit requirement.

Do not edit anything else in the data.cfg except the lines as instructed above. Modifications to the Gen3 configuration files may cause the Gen3 to exhibit unknown or unpredictable behaviour negating the safety function.
