Troubleshooting Common EQSS Gen 1 Problems
Problem:
The boom won't move and the stop icon is showing on the display
Solution:
You are trying to lift a load which is greater than the maximum capacity
specified by the manufacturer rating charts for that attachment.
To move the boom turn and hold the override key switch. This will
temporarily shut off the TSS's limiting capabilities to allow you to move.
Problem:
Boom still won't move even while holding the override switch
Solution:
The emergency override function is enabled for 60 seconds or less
after the key switch has initially been activated. Once this time expires
the TSS resumes it's normal limiting operations. To engage the cut-out,
release the switch, turn and hold again.
Problem:
Current load is reading heavy after raising the boom
Solution:
Raising the boom increases the pressure in the head of the hydraulic
ram. This results in a higher pressure being read by the sensor and
displaying a heavier load.
Lower the boom slightly to equalise the pressure. This will produce an
accurate load reading.
Problem:
Engine won't start
Solution:
The eqss™ TSS system will never prevent the machine from starting. If
the engine doesn't start contact your local Haulotte representative for
troubleshooting support.
Problem:
The system alarms when trying to push the boom beyond its
maximum angle
Solution:
This is a safety feature built into the system to discourage the operator
from over pressurizing the main lifting cylinder.
If this occurs, engage the override and lower the boom slightly to
release the pressure and the system will disengage the cutout and
alarms.
Problem:
The load reading is too high or too low when lifting a load with a
known weight
Solution:
The TSS may require re calibration.
Problem:
The cable on the cable reeler is “sagging” when the boom is
retracted
Solution:
The cable reeler may require lubrication.
Problem:
The systems alarms after lifting the boom above a certain height
Solution:
If the display is showing the maximum height stop symbol, then the
system has prevented the telehandler from exceeding it's maximum
height. Lower the boom to deactivate the alarm.
Problem:
After raising the boom at speed the height of the boom has
exceeded the pre-set height limit
Solution:
The height limiter feature is designed to limit the boom height while
lifting a load at a normal safe speed. If the boom is raised at a fast rate,
by the time the system engages the height cutout the boom will have
exceeded the height limit.
Problem:
The system alarms after lifting the man platform above 3 m height
or beyond 5 m radius with the stabilisers up
Solution:
The system prevents man platform operation from inside the cabin.
Retract or lower the boom and operate from the man platform controls.
Problem:
The man platform can't be raised or extended using the cabin
controls with the stabilisers down
Solution:
When the stabilizers are down all further boom movements should be
from the man platform controls.
