Gen3 - Attachments - Man Platforms

Using a Man Platform attachment on a telehandler requires compliance to the EWP code. The following additional requirements must be met to use a Man Platform attachment with the Gen3-LMS.
  1. The telehandler must be controllable from inside the Man Platform - If the man platform controls are wireless or portable they must be fixed to the platform, so that only the person in the platform can move the telehandler boom.
  2. Must ensure the Man Platform attachment can not be accidentally disconnected from the telehandler head - The man platform must connect to the attachment head on the telehandler and then secured with the attachment locking bar. Man Platforms designed to sit on fork tynes do not comply.
  3. Man Platform must have internal overload detection - Typically the Gen3-LMS load measurement is disabled when using a man platform. This is due to the low SWL of Man Platforms (typically 300 Kg). Such a low SWL in within the Gen3 load measurement tolerances.
  4. Switch inside the cabin to change between platform and cabin control - The Gen3-LMS will need to connect to this switch to detect when using man platform control and prevent a Gen3 cutout.
  5. If the telehandler has stabilisers, then the man platform must only be operated on stabilisers - This is to ensure the most stable operating conditions. If this is not enforced by the telehandler ECU (eg. platforms controls disabled until stabilisers down), the Gen3-LMS can enforce this by using a stabilisers up chart that limits the range.
  6. The telehandler must be able to support the SWL of the man platform through its entire boom range - As the platform only has basic overload detection it can't detect the boom position and cutout to prevent forward tipping.
Warning
If the above requirements can not be met, then the Gen3-LMS can not support this attachment.
