The Gen3-LMS has support for a forward and a reverse camera. The camera images are displayed on the screen when the machine is in drive.
The
forward camera is displayed when in forward gear and the reverse camera is displayed
when in reverse gear.
When a camera is engaged, the display layout changes to camera mode. The rating chart and stability triangle are replaced by the camera window. This allows the operator to both view the camera and still have a view of the current load and capacity from the status window. However when an overload event occurs the display will switch back to normal mode to allow the operator to view and analyse the rating chart and stability windows.
Forward Camera
The majority of service issues relate to damage to the front right tire, due to the fact that the boom obscures the operator’s view when performing pick and carry operations. To solve this problem a camera is installed to display the view from the front right tire. When the operator places the machine in forward gear the forward camera is activated to show any obstructions that the operator may run into. The camera should be mounted on the right side mirror bracket, or the right side
headlight. It should be mounted as low as possible and angled so that the top of the
wheel is visible and about 2-3 meters in front of the machine is visible. The front camera is supplied with metal p-clips that should allow the camera to be
mounted onto the side mirror mount. Alternatively, it can be mounted directly to the headlight
cover. Loosen the bolts on the top of the camera to rotate the camera image.

Once the camera is mounted, attach the camera cable to the camera power and signal
connectors. Run the cable down inside the headlight post if possible. If not, then cable tie
down the headlight post every 200 mm. Run the cable through into the cabin towards
the CCIM. The camera cable will then be connected to the Power/Camera harness.
Reverse Camera
The reverse camera is useful to see any obstacles behind the telehandler when
reversing. The reverse camera has built in night-vision to help identify obstacles when
reversing in low light conditions.
The camera should be mounted onto a plate at the rear of the boom - near where the
license plate is mounted. If there is no license plate, ensure the camera is mounted in a
location that would allow a license plate to be added in the future.
Drill a 31 mm hole into the plate to secure the camera. The camera can be aligned at
different angles by adjusting the washers.

Once the camera is mounted, attach the camera cable to the camera power and signal
connectors. Run the cable along the side of the chassis - along the existing hydraulic
hoses and/or electrical cables. Run the cable through into the cabin towards the CCIM.
The camera cable will be connected to the Power/Camera harness.
The cameras viewing angles may need to be adjusted once
the system is installed and the display is operational.
