Gen3 - Calibration - Haulotte HTL 4014 & HTL4017 Boom Length Calibration

Notes
The telehandler stabilisers must be lowered and the stabiliser sensors/switches must be functioning correctly before attempting a Gen 3 boom length calibration
Why is this a problem?
Haulotte telehandlers will generate their own boom extension cutout before reaching full boom extension, if the Haulotte machine can't sense the lowering of the stabilisers/outriggers. The implications of this situation to the Gen 3 boom length calibration is an inaccurate boom length calibration. This will result in inaccuracies of weight reading on the Gen 3 screen and most probably incorrect machine cutouts.

How to make sure that this doesn't happen
The technician must first verify that the stabilisers/outriggers sensors/switches are being switched when the outriggers are fully extended and only then complete the Gen 3 boom extension calibration.

Calibration Steps:
1. Navigate the Gen 3 system to: System Menu -> Diagnostics Menu
2. Retract the boom fully and observe the 'Stow Switch' field is 'Active' - if it does NOT change to active, then contact EQSS for further advice
3. Scroll down to the second page and locate the Stabiliser fields
4. Observe 'Left Stabiliser Down' and 'Right Stabiliser Down' screen fields - when the stabilisers are up, they should both be 'Inactive'
5. Operate and lower the Haulotte machine stabilisers
6. When both stabilisers have been fully lowered, they should both be 'Active'
7. If they are not both active in the fully lowered position, then they will need to be repaired/replaced until they show 'Active'
8. Then navigate the Gen 3 display to:
System Menu -> Advanced Menu -> Password [2   8   4] -> Submit Password -> Sensor Calibrations -> Calibrate Boom Length

9. Lift the boom to approximately 5 degrees so that it doesn't scrape the ground when you extend the boom
10. Read and follow the onscreen calibration instructions
11. Retract the boom fully until the stow switch has been activated
12. Now extend the boom fully (until the hydraulic motors can be heard laboring), as far as the boom can possibly extend
13. Press the 'Calibrate' button on your Gen 3 Display via the 5-Way Navigation Switch
14. Navigate back out to the main Gen 3 screen
15. The Gen 3 system should now be ready for normal operation
16. Lift an accurately known weight with the telehandler and check for accuracy of weight - the acceptable tolerance is plus/minus 100Kg to 150Kg

Warning
The Gen 3 boom length calibration should never be completed if the stabiliser positioning cannot be sensed
