The Gen 3 ITC system is made up of modules that interconnect and communicate through a CAN bus
The IN04 fault code is usually displayed when the CAN bus is disabled (short or open).
Troubleshooting:
Inspect the CAN cables running
between the CSDM (Display), CCIM, CPIM,
CDAM and CLTM (Light Tower) modules for possible
damage. Ensure the cable
connectors are all fastened and
secure. Check all module CAN connector pins. If one of the pins has been bent during cable insertion, then the CAN bus may not function as expected. If no obvious damage is found then start by swapping around a known working cable between the various modules.
If no spare cable is available, then conduct a continuity test on each wire run (in each CAN cable). Also look for shorts between the conductors within each CAN cable.
