The carrier angle is calibrated when the Gen 3 system is first installed. The carrier angle data can be lost if an EQSS module has been replaced.
First verify the carrier angle functionality. Tilt the carrier (vehicle) forward/back and ensure the longitudinal angle is changing. If the longitudinal angle is changing re-calibrate the carrier angle (described below). If the angle does not change, replace the CPIM or raise a support request and send the faulty CPIM to EQSS for repair.
If the longitudinal angle is changing, the remedy that usually clears this fault is the re-calibration of the carrier angle. Achieving this task requires the operator to navigate the Gen 3 menu system to the 'Calibrate Carrier Angle' function screen.
The navigation path from the Gen 3 main screen is:
1. Press the center 'Enter' button on the 5 button user control
2. Navigate to the 'System Menu'
3. Navigate to the 'Advanced Menu'
4. Enter Password '2 - 8 - 4' and then 'Submit Password'
5. Navigate to the 'Sensor Calibrations'
6. Navigate to the 'Calibrate Carrier Angle' function
Then read and execute the instructions on the display to complete the 'Calibrate Carrier Angle'
Navigate back to the Gen 3 main screen and the IT04 fault should have been cleared and no longer be displayed. If the IT04 fault remains then the CPIM may have developed an electronic fault and may require factory diagnosis/repair.
