Gen3_ITC - Installation - Volvo L120H Main Head & Rod Pressure Sensors

The hydraulic pressure sensors are used to measure the lifting load of the ITC
Installation Steps:
  1. Completely lower the boom. Apply the handbrake and insert chock under wheels. Once lowered, release any residual pressure by pulling on the manual release valve.
  2. The rod end pressure sensor is installed inline with the rod hydraulic line on the left hand main lift cylinder. The sensor is installed using the manifold block.
  3. Remove the existing the rod end line from the connection point.
  4. Install the manifold block (HY001103) in series and apply the new longer bolts M12 x 70mm. Tighten the bolts for the hose to 41 Nm using a torque wrench. Make sure the sensor is positioned facing downwards on the right hand side.
  5. The Head End pressure sensor is installed in the counter balance valve block. It is installed on the left hand main lift cylinder.
  6. First remove both head and rod fittings from the manifold block. Install the pressure sensor at the rear port marked TP.
  7. Reconnect the rod fitting and then reconnect the hydraulic lines. Start the machine, pressurise the boom and check for leaks.
  8. Connect the supplied M12 4 metre cables (CB001026) into each of the pressure sensors. Cable tie to the flexible hydraulic hoses nearest to the sensors. Make sure the cable isn't pinched or stretched when the boom is raised or lowered.

Notes
Please refer to Gen 3 ITC Installation Manual for Volvo L120H for installation details with accompanying photos
Warning
Failure to tighten the bolts to the correct torque on the pressure manifold may result in a pressure failure on the counterbalance valve causing an uncontrolled fall of the boom.
