Gen3_ITC - Installation - Caterpillar 962K Pressure Sensor Installation

The hydraulic pressure sensors are used to measure the lifting load of the ITC
Main Cylinder
Installation Steps:
1. Raise the boom to approximately 40
degrees.
Support and secure the boom using
an A Frame or similar apparatus. It
must support at least 2 tons.
Apply the handbrake and insert
chock under wheels.
The locations for the Main head
pressure sensor and Main Rod
Pressure Sensor (shown in the
image below).
2. The rod end pressure sensor is
installed onto the rod end of the
main lift cylinder. The sensor will be
installed by using the supplied
hydraulic T-Connector.
3. Remove the existing the rod end line
from the connection point and install
the supplied T-Connector in-line
with the removed hose.
4. The Head End pressure sensor is
installed in the location shown in the
image, close to the articulation point
of the machine.
5. Remove the existing the port cover
from the connection point and install
the supplied Hydraulic fitting (as
shown in the image below).
Start the machine, pressurise the
boom and check for leaks.
6. Connect the supplied M12 4 metre
cables (CB001026) into each of the
pressure sensors.
Cable tie to the flexible hydraulic
hoses nearest to the sensors. Make
sure the cable isn't pinched or
stretched when the boom is raised
or lowered.

Angle the tee connections to ensure the hydraulic connections
and pressure sensor do not hit the walls of the machine when
the boom is lowered

Failure to tighten the bolts to the correct torque on the
pressure manifold may result in a pressure failure on the
counterbalance valve causing an uncontrolled fall of the boom.
