Gen3 - Software - Display Reset Loop On The EQSS Loading Screen

It has come to our attention that an issue can occur with the Gen3 display that can prevent it from booting successfully and causing a reset loop.
Reports indicate that this issue occurs randomly and may not occur at all.
We've raised this issue with our supplier and they have confirmed the issue is occurring due to a corruption of the filesystem on the Gen3 display.
Our supplier has provided a work around in the following patch.

Warning
This patch can be applied to any Gen3 display that is exhibiting this issue.
If your display serial number is in the list at the end of this page, please apply this patch before returning the display to EQSS for repair.

The following instructions describe how to apply the patch
  1. Remove the SD card from the Gen3 display and insert into the laptop
Note: The Gen-3 Configuration Tool user manual here explains in more detail and shows how to remove the SD card from the display
  2. Click this link here to download the boot.scr patch file
  3. Copy the downloaded boot.scr file to the SD card
  4. If necessary rename the file boot.scr, if it's named boot (1).scr or something else the Gen3 will not recognise it as a patch file and the patch will not be applied
  5. Click Safely Remove Hardware from the system tray to safely remove the SD card from the laptop
  6. Insert the SD card into the Gen3 display
  7. Start the engine to power the Gen3 LMS
  8. Wait for the Gen3 display to load to the screen titled One Time Startup Delay then power off the machine
  9. Wait for the Gen3 display to power off
  10. Restart the engine and ensure the Gen3 display loads as normal
Alert
WARNING: In Step 4 If your web browser or email client renames the boot.scr file when downloading. You must rename the file back to update.tar or THE UPDATE WILL NOT WORK.

The work around for this issue has been applied to all new Gen3 displays.
