ITC SWL- Faults - Maintenance

The components of the SWL safety system require periodic checks and maintenance to be performed to ensure it remains in working order.
As the SWL is a safety device it's load calibration must be tested every 12 months or when ever changes have occurred to the hydraulic systems. The SWL uses angle transducers plus pressure sensors, installed into the main lifting cylinder, to convert the information into a load reading. The variables in the system can change after a period of time due to a number of different factors, this may result in a higher or lower load reading. e,g. If the counter balance valves have been adjusted or sections of the hydraulic system have been replaced, incorrect load readings can occur. A re-calibration will readjust the load reading for any minor changes in the systems.

With each attachment, lift a known weight to ensure the load reading is within ±100 Kg of the actual weight. If outside this region, a re-calibration must be performed. If re-calibration is required contact an eqss representative to arrange a time to perform the re-calibration.
