MCL - Installation - JCB Telehandlers Boom Head Cable Installation

MCL - Installation - JCB Telehandlers Boom Head Cable Installation

Notes
The boom head cable connects between the cable reeler and the jib cable
It is also connected to the blank plug connector, when the jib is not in use and has been removed.
Installation Steps:
1. Mount the blank plug connector next to the cable reeler connector.

2. The head cable connects to the jib cable when the jib is in use and to the blank connector when using a different attachment.
It must be secured to the side of the boom head so that it can plug into both connectors (and is free to rotate with the jib attachment).

3. Secure the boom head cable using the supplied p-clips/hose clamps.

Boom Cable Installation onto Hydraulic Pipes
Notes
The boom cable connects from the cable reeler to the electronics in the cabin.
The details below outline attaching the cable to hydraulic lines running up the boom. If there are no external hydraulic lines to attach the boom cable, see Boom Cable Installation using Cable Tubes (below).
Installation Steps:
1. Attach the connector to the cable reeler and secure the boom cable to the hydraulic lines (using a cable tie approximately every 20 cm).
2. Follow the hydraulic lines around the boom pivot. Ensure that the boom cable is not stretched when the boom is raised.
3. Cable tie the boom cable along hydraulic lines or electrical tubing.
4. Run the cable through the hole into the dashboard.

Boom Cable Installation using Cable Tubes
Notes
The boom cable connects from the cable reeler to the electronics in the cabin.
The details below outline running the cable up the boom through the supplied cable tubes. If there are external hydraulic lines available to attach the boom cable, see Boom Cable Installation onto Hydraulic Pipes (above).
Installation Steps:
1. Assemble the cable tube sections into a single straight tube.
2. Mount the cable tube along the boom, so the connector on the tube can connect to the cable reeler connector.
3. Secure to the boom using the supplied p-clips and attach to the cable reeler connector.
4. Secure the black hose from the cable tube to the hydraulic lines around the boom pivot using cable ties.
5. Ensure that the boom cable is not stretched when the boom is raised.
6. Cable tie the black hose along hydraulic lines or electrical tubing.
7. Run the cable through the hole into the dashboard.
