MCL - User - Overload/Override Modes
System Indicators
The MCL indicates the current status via the indicator mounted in the dashboard.
Overload Indicator illustration below.
Overload Mode
When a load is lifted which is beyond the set capacity, the MCL system will go into
overload mode.
In overload mode the following occurs:
• The Overload Indicator is illuminated
• An intermittent tone will sound
• The hydraulic cutout is engaged
To return from overload mode engage the override for the hydraulic cutout and drop the
load.
Override Mode
When the system is in overload mode the override must be engaged in order to drop the
load. Press and hold the override switch to enable the boom hydraulics and lower the
load. The system will still indicate an overload even when the override is engaged.
Overrides on a Manitou
Overrides on a JCB
The override timer is adjustable to between 5 – 60 seconds.
EQSS recommends a setting of 15 seconds.
The override indicator and intermittent tone will sound while
holding the override switch, until the load has been released.
