Gen4 - Maintenance - Clean Display and BPS Module
Follow the instructions below to maintain the Gen4-LMS components in optimal condition.
Clean Gen4-LMS Display
The Gen4-LMS display is rated to IP64 so there is no need to clean inside the display. Clean any accumulated dust on the surface of the touchscreen using a damp cloth; do not use any solvents or cleaners as this may damage the display. Clean the display enclosure using a damp cloth. Clean out any dust collected on the speaker perforated holes using compressed air (see the highlighted areas in the image below). The frequency of cleaning the display will depend on the environmental working conditions - clean more often in a dusty and dry environment.
Clean BPS Module
The BPS module mechanical components will require regular maintenance to ensure it continues to operate
correctly. Remove the protective cover and wheel on each arm. Clean the wheel to ensure it is able to rotate freely
and apply machine oil lubricant to the wheel bearing, see the highlighted area in the image below.
Remove the cover on the main BPS housing. Clean the joints around the arm springs and apply lubricant grease to
ensure they can be rotated (see the highlighted area in the image below).
After applying grease to the boom for the wear pads, clean any grease along the travel path of the BPS wheels to
ensure the wheels do not jam.
