There is a very small quantity of EWP control boxes that are able to be used on a number of similar scissors/vertical masts (from the same brand).
However, for the integrated EQSS Overwatch to also know that this change has taken place, it's necessary to change the EQSS Overwatch configuration. This process is called 'Overwatch Reconfiguration'. This configuration change is made by logging into the Overwatch via WiFi and selecting a different model from the drop down menu and pressing the 'Set' button on the 'Overwatch Setup' screen. The drop down menu contains many selectable models. However, only one of those will function correctly with your actual EWP, so please make sure that you have selected the correct one for your specific EWP. Furthermore, this is how newly engineered EWP models are distributed to EQSS customers. Therefore, software updates on the EQSS website are how we release configurations for new models as well as update/fix bugs on older models.
When a different configuration has been selected than the current setting, the Overwatch ECU will request an Overwatch Reconfiguration password. To generate this password it's necessary to click on
Overwatch Reconfiguration and enter your details and the ECU serial number.
The ECU serial number (6253E-xxxx-xxxx, A2038-xxxx-xxxx, A2157-xxxx-xxxx) can be found:
1. On the silver label attached to the EQSS ECU (mounted inside the scissor control box).
2. Can be read directly from the WiFi Overwatch SSID that your phone/tablet/PC connected to.
For the Overwatch Reconfiguration to be successful, an 'Overwatch Installation' test must complete successfully, or the Overwatch system simply won't work.
Some possible reasons for reconfiguration failure:
1. Overwatch Harness differences within the control box
2. Wrong configuration loaded for the current control box
3. Error in entering the serial number in the Overwatch Re-configuration software tool
