OverWatch - Installation - Sensor Mounting Guard V2 (7.5 Degree Lateral Angle)

OverWatch - Installation - Sensor Mounting Guard V2 (7.5 Degree Lateral Angle)

Notes
This guard (AS002326) supersedes the original V1 design.
Some Overwatch installs require the sensor to be angled outwards (laterally away from the joystick) by 7.5 degrees. This sensor angling is accomplished by screwing the inner metal sensor carrier into the 7.5 degree offset hole (on the bottom of the main carrier bracket), such that it is twisted outwards from the joystick controller.

Mount the operator sensor (in the angle degree from the vertical position - as specified in the EQSS installation manual for your machine) on the mounting bracket using the supplied M5 washers and nuts. The installation manual for your particular EWP will give you the correct angle from the vertical that the sensor should be mounted and the correct locations where the holes should be drilled.

However, as a common rule of thumb, the sensor LIDAR should be aimed at the approximate height of an average operator chest height. Therefore, a little bit of common sense can be applied by installers of any EQSS Overwatch system. When the install has been completed, if the sensor is aimed above the operator's head (when the operator is an arms length away from the EWP joystick controller), then an error has been made by the installer and the Overwatch will not function as intended. If you find that the Overwatch isn't operating as expected, then please check your mounting holes and re-mount the sensor exactly as outlined in the EQSS install manual for your EWP.  All Overwatch install manuals can be found at:  Overwatch Manuals

Notes
The lateral 7.5-degree twist is achieved by rotating the sensor inside the assembly and using the bolt hole as show in the image.
