Gen3 - Software - Update Configuration and Load Calibration for Barminco

Follow the instructions below to update the Gen3-LMS with the latest configuration and load calibrations.
  1. Remove the SD card from the Gen3 display and insert into a laptop
  2. Click on the links below that matches the machine
    1. Volvo L90H
    2. Volvo L120H
  3. Click the download icon  in the top right and save the file to the SD card
    Note: Do not save the update.tar file to the computer, always download from the links above to make sure the latest updates are applied. Change the default download behaviour of your browser to always ask where to download files, see below for instructions 
  4. Click Safely Remove Hardware from the system tray to safely remove the SD card from the laptop
  5. Insert the SD card into the Gen3 display
  6. Start the engine and the Gen3 display will load the update screen
  7. Wait for the update to finish and reboot to the main screen, then shutdown the machine
  8. Download and install Notepad++ from this link
  9. Remove the SD card from the Gen3 display and insert into a laptop
  10. Open the file data.cfg using Notepad++
  11. In the top [General] section update the following values
    MachineSerialNumber=XXXX ; Change XXXX to the machine's serial number
  12. Save the file
  13. Click Safely Remove Hardware from the system tray to safely remove the SD card from the laptop
  14. Insert the SD card into the Gen3 display

Do not edit anything else in the data.cfg except the lines as instructed above. Modifications to the Gen3 configuration files may cause the Gen3 to exhibit unknown or unpredictable behaviour negating the safety function.

Debug Update Problems

If the update process doesn't run after reinstalling the SD card back into the display, this is most likely caused by naming issues with the update.tar file.
After downloading the update.tar file to the SD card the windows file manager should look like below.


There should be no other files on the SD card except for update.tar

If the file only says update, you will also need to turn on file name extensions. In the windows file manager click View and select the checkbox File name extensions
