Gen3 - Software - Zip Contents of SD Card

When debugging an issue with the Gen3-LMS with one of our support agents, they may ask for the contents of the SD card in the Gen3-LMS.
Follow these instructions below to create a zip file containing the SD card contents, which can be emailed to our support agent.

If using Windows 10 skip to the next section.

Using Windows 11

Please Note: The following instructions will use the default zip program built into Windows. The Windows layout may be configured slightly different than in the screenshots below. The show file name extensions option has also been enabled.
  1. Insert the SD card from the Gen3-LMS into the PC and open with File Manager

  2. Select the full contents of the SD card, by clicking on the 3 dots (. . .) in the top right corner and click Select all.

  3. Right click on the logs folder and select Compress to ZIP file

  4. This will create the zip file. Rename the file sdcard.zip

  5. Attach the zip file to an email and send to support@eqss.com.au
Note: If your company email servers prevents sending emails with zip attachments see the workaround at the end of this article.

Mail Server Blocks Sending Zip Attachments

Some companies will restrict sending emails with zip attachments as an attempt to minimise the spread of computer viruses.
The files contained on the SD card do not contain any executables or any type of file that could be infected with a virus.

To workaround this problem upload the file to a secure cloud hosting service such as WeTransfer.
At the time of writing this article, Wetransfer is able to send attachments up to 2GB and will automatically delete the file after 7 days.
There is no need to sign up for account, however it will ask you to verify your email address before sending the file to protect their service from automated bots.
