MCL - Faults - Troubleshooting

Notes
This Tech Doc contains a list of common problems and solutions
Problem:
The system is in overload mode after lifting a load with the jib
Solution:
You are trying to lift a load which is greater than the set capacity of the load sensor. To drop the load push and hold the override switch. This will temporarily shut off the MCL limiting capabilities to allow you to move the boom.

Problem:
Boom still won't move even while holding the override switch
Solution:
The emergency override function is enabled for 60 seconds or less after the switch has initially been depressed. Once this time expires the MCL resumes its normal limiting operations. To override the cutout, release the switch, and press and hold again.

Problem:
The system is in overload mode after removing the jib
Solution:
Ensure the attachment cable is inserted into the blanking connector. If the attachment cable is installed into the blanking connector, inspect the cable reeler and cabling along the boom and head for damage. If damage is found contact an EQSS representative for repair

Problem:
Engine won't start
Solution:
The MCL system will never prevent the machine from starting. If the engine doesn't start contact your local Manitou representative for troubleshooting support.

Problem:
The system alarms intermittently after lifting a heavy load
Solution:
The weight of the load is very close to the threshold of the load sensor. Try to lift the load slowly to minimise the “bounce” in the boom and reduce the intermittent alarm.

Problem:
The system is constantly in overload mode
Solution:
Inspect the cable reeler and cabling along the boom and head for damage. If damage is found contact an EQSS representative for repair.
