Gen3 - Installation - Generic Machine Electrical Connections

To accommodate the various brands and many models, a substantial number of Gen 3 installation kits have been engineered and are available for purchase from EQSS.
The following sections serve to illustrate common electrical connections from the Gen 3 safety system to the existing electronics in the machine. The purpose of this Tech Doc is not to provide a wiring setup for any specific telehandler, but rather to provide generic guidance for customers when trying to troubleshoot electrical issues.

The Gen3 LMS requires the following components to be connected from the machine:

The following sections will require connecting into the switch signals provided by the machine electronics. The majority of machine electronics switch power (12V) signals. However, some of the newer machines with advanced processors switch ground signals. The Gen3 LMS system can handle both power and ground switching signals with just a change to a diode direction in the i/o harness wiring loom. By default the diode direction is set for ground switching, the anode of the diode is connected into the CCIM input and the cathode is connected into the machine signal output, to change the input for power switching just reverse the diode direction and connect the cathode to the CCIM input and the anode to the machine signal output.
