This Tech Doc was written to help customers with very old Sinoboom E Series Installations
The latest version of the Sinoboom E Series kit utilises a daughter board with spring loaded contacts that connect to the LGMG control board. As we no longer publish or maintain an installation manual for this version kit, it is being published as a Tech Doc here for those customers that still have this old kit version in service.
Please note that the Software Version 9 update is not compatible with the Pre 2021 harness in this old kit. You will need to update your harness in order to update your software.
The EQSS Overwatch harness PN: AS002212 is required to update your Overwatch software to Version 9
Operator Sensor
Installation Steps:
1. Drill two holes in the location
shown in the diagram below, to mount the operator sensor.
2. Distances are from the vertical and
horizontal edge of the metal cover.
Sensor must be
mounted at 45 degrees from vertical line
3. Mount the module in the located
position using the supplied positioning wedges, sensor guard, M4 washers, nuts
and bolts.
4. Ensure that the 7
degrees wedge is used to face the sensor outward.
5. Install the Operator Sensor cable gland in the location shown by drilling
a 20mm hole
6. Route the operator sensor cable (as shown in the diagram below).
7. Wiring connections are made by the Overwatch Harness
8. Disconnect the 14-Pin connector
from the joystick.
9. Install the Overwatch Harness in series with the connectors in the image.
10. One side
of the T-Piece is connected to the joystick 14-Pin Connector and the other to
side to the 14-Pin connector on the control board.
11. Install the Red wire from the
Overwatch ECU harness to the
E-stop terminal 1.
12. Remove the buzzer and the E-Stop button to have better access to the
main circuit board.
13. Identify the pin locations on the circuit board (shown in the image below).
Detailed instructions on soldering locations will be displayed in the following steps.
14. Solder the Overwatch ECU harness Purple wire, to the pin behind the Drive Select
button (shown in the image below).
15. Solder the White wires that come from
the supplied relay, to the circuit board locations (shown in the image below).
16. After soldering all Overwatch wires onto the Sinoboom circuit board, use a hot-glue gun to cover the
exposed solder on the appropriate solder joints. If done right, the hot glue will add a bit of physical support to the the wire.
17. Attach the control module to the base of the control box
using the Velcro supplied.
18. Connect the 8-Pin connector from the laser module and the
12-pin connector from the machine harness to the control module.

Installation
Test
The installation test enables a configuration to be set and then validates the signals from the relevant control lines.
Therefore, after the model configuration has been set (or updated), an
Installation Test must be performed. This will ensure the installation has been
correctly performed, and the Overwatch is functioning correctly.
Follow the instructions on the web page to complete the
Installation Test.
Change Model Configuration
To reconfigure the Overwatch for a different model requires an authorisation password. The authorisation password is generated from a web page on the EQSS website (link below).
Go to the
Reconfiguration page and follow the instructions to create an authorisation password.
