OverWatch - Installation - Sensor Mounting Guard V2 (0 Degree Lateral Angle)
This guard (AS002326)
supersedes the original V1
design.
Some Overwatch installs require the sensor to be angled straight on at 0 degrees lateral. This sensor angling is accomplished by screwing the inner metal sensor carrier into the 0 degree no-offset hole (on the bottom of the main carrier bracket).
Mount the operator sensor (in
the angle degree position from the vertical - as specified in the EQSS installation manual for your machine) on the
mounting bracket using the
supplied M5 washers and
nuts. The installation manual for your particular EWP will give you the correct angle from the vertical that the sensor should be mounted and the correct locations where the holes should be drilled.
However, as a common rule of thumb, the sensor LIDAR should be aimed at the approximate height of an average operator chest height. Therefore, a little bit of common sense can be applied by installers of any EQSS Overwatch system. When the install has been completed, if the sensor is aimed above the operator's head - for example (when the operator is an arms length away from the EWP joystick controller) , then an error has been made by the installer and the Overwatch will not function as intended. If you find that the Overwatch isn't operating as expected, then please check your mounting holes and re-mount the sensor exactly as outlined in the EQSS install manual for your EWP.
Make sure that the
sensor is on the 0.0-degree lateral angle, such that it is not
twisted away from the
joystick.
