Crush Guard - Installation - Genie Z-40/23N Machine Connections

Notes
This Tech Doc shows how to complete the connections to the machine
Installation steps:
1. Remove the 4 bolts that secure the lid to the operator control box.

2. Drill a 20 mm hole in the location marked earlier for the M23 connector.

3. Insert the supplied cable wire harness up through the exposed hole (making sure that the M23 connector remains on the outside of the operator control box).

4. Using a 24mm open ended spanner secure the M23 connector to the control panel using the supplied metal lock nut.
5. Make sure that the nut is done up tight to avoid the connector rotating.

6. On the emergency stop switch, locate the 24V power supply output signal.
7. Remove the 24V power supply from the emergency stop terminal and replace with the fork terminal on the pink / blue wire from the Crush Guard wire harness.
8. Cut off the fork terminal from the 24V power supply wire that was removed from the emergency stop switch and crimp join the white wire from the Crush Guard wire harness. See Note 1.

9. Locate the 24V deadman signal (which is 24V when the deadman foot pedal is pressed).
This can typically be found on the drive speed switch or on other switches where the function is enabled when the deadman foot pedal is pressed.
10. Attach the ring lug on the yellow wire from the Crush Guard wire harness to the 24V deadman signal. See Note 1.

11. Locate the connector to the deadman foot switch and determine which wire contains the deadman foot switch common signal.
12. Cut the deadman foot switch common wire and join the green and brown wires from the Crush Guard wire harness onto each end of the wire.
See Note 1. See Note 2.

13. Attach the black wire with the female spade terminal from the Crush Guard wire harness to the ground point connector block inside the operator control box (as shown in the image below). See Note 1.

14. Secure the Crush Guard wire harness to the existing wires using cable ties.
