This Tech Doc shows Crush Guard wiring connections on the ALC1000 Boom Lift
Required hardware:
- 1000mm of two core cable minimum 18 gauge AWG
- 700mm of pink wire, minimum 18 gauge AWG
- 5 x red crimp joiner
- 1 x blue crimp joiner
- 1 x yellow crimp fork
Installation Steps:
1. Insert the cable loom and cable
gland through the drilled holes (as
shown in the image below).
2. Apply and
tighten the nuts on the rear of
the loom connector and cable
gland.
3. Run the 2-Core cable through the
cable gland, leaving
approximately 150mm of slack
inside the control box.
On the Crush Guard loom
remove the snake tube and cut
the wires to the following length.
4. Cut the snake tube to 120mm and use to cover the blue, white, yellow, pink, grey and black wires in the loom.
5. Using red crimp joiners, splice the green and brown wires from
the Crush Guard loom, to the 2-Core cable wires going outside
through the cable gland (as shown in the photo below).
Note: The direction of the wire
colours is not important.
6. Make the system ground
connection by using a blue crimp
joiner and splice the black from
the Crush Guard loom into wire
J01 from connector J7 Pin-16 on
the ALC 1000 ECU.
7. Make the system power
connection by running the
700mm pink wire from terminal 1
of the E-Stop switch, to the pink
wire of the Crush Guard loom.
Use a yellow fork crimp on the
E-stop connection and use a red
crimp joiner to connect the pink
wires together.
8. Make the system cutout
connection by splicing into the
foot switch circuit.
9. Run the 2-Core cable from the platform
control box, down to the footswitch 2-Pin Deutsch connector and then splice into the orange /
black wire using red crimp
joiners.
10. Finalise the connections, by sealing with electrical tape
and tucking the wires back inside
the snake tube.
Note: The direction of the wire
colours is not important.
11. Finalise the wire loom by
applying zip ties to secure the
main loom and installed
connections.

The Crush Guard is factory configured for 12V operation. If the Crush Guard® is installed on a 24V DC machine, please refer to
System Voltage Configuration Tech Doc to configure the control module for 24V operation.
