Crush Guard - Installation - Genie ALC500 Wiring Connections

Notes
This Tech Doc shows Crush Guard wiring connections on the ALC500 Boom Lift
Installation Steps:
1. Remove the 4 bolts that secure the lid to the operator control box.

2. Using a flat head screw driver, remove the installed grommet from the operator control box (as shown in the image below).

3. Insert the supplied cable loom up through the exposed hole making sure that the M23 connector remains on the outside of the operator control box.

4. Using a 24mm open ended spanner secure the M23 connector to the control panel, using the supplied metal lock nut.
Make sure that the nut is done up tight to avoid the connector rotating.

5. On the rear of the emergency stop switch, remove the white wire (P23BAT) from the centre terminal of the switch block, and cut off the yellow fork crimp. 6. Attach the pink / blue wire from the Crush Guard loom to the centre terminal of the switch block.
7. Crimp the white wire from the Crush Guard loom to the existing white wire that was removed from the switch block.

8. Connect the yellow wire from the Crush Guard loom, to the screw terminal block at the rear of the drive speed switch centre terminal - with wire label P24FS.

9. Locate the black wire coming from the Deutsch 4P foot switch connector labelled P26EST.
10. Cut and splice the green and brown wires from the Crush Guard loom as follows. Green wire towards the Deutsch plug and brown wire towards the machine ECU. Note: The direction of the wire colours is not important.

11. Attach the black wire with blue crimped female spade terminal from the Crush Guard loom to the ground point connector block inside the operator control box (as shown in the image below).

12. Finalise the wire loom by applying one zip tie to secure the snake tubed loom, to the lid of the operator control box (as shown in the image below).

Warning
The Crush Guard is factory configured for 12V operation. If the Crush Guard® is installed on a 24V DC machine, please refer to System Voltage Configuration Tech Doc to configure the control module for 24V operation.
